Friday of 3rd Week Vendredi e la 3e semaine

« And Jesus said : »This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the land. Night and day, while he sleeps, when he is awake, the seed is sprouting and growing ; how, he does not know."

He 10, 32-39 Ps. 36 Mk. 4, 26-34

Friday of 3rd week uneven numbered year
Jesus also said ‘This is what the Kingdom of Go dis like. A man scatters seed on the land. Night and day, while he sleeps , while he is awake the seed is sprouting ; how, he does not know. »
He 10,32-39 Ps.36 Mk.4,26-34
Jesus also said ‘This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the land. Night and day, while he sleeps , while he is awake the seed is sprouting ; how, he does not know. Of its own accord the earth produces first of all the shoot, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. And when th crop is ready, at once he starts to reap because the harvest has come. »

This image of the growth of wheat bears an account to the Kingdom rising up in us. This is a reality that goes beyond us, we perceive its development outside of us whereas we had thought that we possessed our own lives.
Jesus, the Word of God, is the only person who possesses his own life and who sows it as Love. He sees the Kingdom he has sown grow up, His word that is received becomes a seed which brings energy and life to other peoples’ lives. They are forged by it to the extent that it would seem as though they were spreading the Good News of the growing Gospel by themselves.
In time and space the earth produces grass, then the ear then the ear is full of grain, all this grows up from the seed. In the end the harvest gives meaning to all this growth. So this growth has a meaning. An ending it doesn’t have any meaning in itself. The finality of this growth for us is a love that is shared on a universal level.
The glorious hope of God’s Love lived out in our lives from morning until night reveals how much God the Father loves us in an infinite way. And this is the case for every single human being on earth.
The dimension of space and time are necessary for the growth of our spiritual life, developing in the gentleness and humility that is the ’earth’.
“Jesus said again ‘What can we say the Kingdom is like ? What parable can we have for it ? It is like a mustard seed which at the time of sowing, is the
smallest of all the seeds on earth. Yet once it is sown it grows into the biggest shrub of them all and puts out big branches so that the birds of the air can shelter in their shade.”
Jesus takes the comparison of the smallest seed ! It will turn into a huge tree which will shelter the birds making their nest there.
When we have given to God all of our time and the space that is our own, everything is at our disposition, God can then take ’body’ in us. We need to respect time and space in order for the seed to grow, be it we sleep or are awake. Thinking about it is not a prerequisite for growth to come about.
The image of the mustard seed overtaking all the garden plants, so giving refuge to ’the birds’ is already the announcement of the tree of the Cross, the place where Jesus will undergo his Passion. It will become the passage towards life for many who will come after him. When this comes about, God’s mercy will keep on welcoming to Himself all that is, and if we are in the will of God, the Kingdom of God will appear. Jesus has us live freely, graciously in peace and so we rejoice for the happiness of God.
“Using many parables like these, he spoke the Word to them, so far as they were capable of understanding it. He would not speak to them except in parables, but he explained everything to his disciples when they were by themselves.”
Right from the very beginning Jesus knows what path he proposes to us, he has his disciples understand it ’to the extent they were capable of understanding’
Jesus makes us the offer of taking up his own path. Our desire for peace, unity of life is lived out in humility for we bear within ourselves lies, the weakness of hatred.
We lose our own life humbly, like a dying seed, so it may be born once again within ourselves and in others. We come to understand the Promise of Life made to us.
The Word began its work of Life and Light, we know how it ended. The passage through the Cross is given to us so that this new Life may come about within ourselves. We receive this promise of Life. The ’yes’ to the life it brings turns us into seeds of wheat offered up for the Eucharist.
It is such a great hope that is given to us to humbly follow Jesus on his Way of Life. We want to remain in adoration and in a state of vigilance, constantly seeking the Will of the Father so that God’s Life makes progress in us.
Jesus, the smallest children of mankind will grow within us. It is the mystery of the Word of God Incarnate made flesh in the Virgin Mary.
If we don’t put up any obstacle, the seeds of the Word will develop in our lives. What makes up our existence will be transformed, we need to remain under God’s sun and keep purifying our hearts.
We ask for the grace to accomplish the will of the Father, so that our life may grow in the Kingdom of God.

FRIDAY of 3rd. WEEK, uneven year

" And Jesus said, "This is what the Kingdom of God is like.It is like a mustard seed which, at the time of its sowing, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth Yet once it is sown it grows into the biggest shrub of them all and puts out big branches so that the birds of the air can shelter in its shade."

The image of the growth of corn illustrates an aspect of this reality which comes up, shows itself, it is a reality which is beyond us, one which we can perceive, and whose development we can perceive for it seems to have its own life.Jesus is the first one who sowed and now he sees the Kingdom of God grow as if on its own., the freed Word brings life to others words that find its origin from it and which spread the Good News. Jesus illustrates this reality by this image, with its own dynamic which can make us think that it is the most wonderful Reality. It is the blossoming of the Infinite Love of God within us.We need to have an absolute confidence that God is at work and that we accomplish what God demands of us. We really need to stay peaceful for we are in a spiritual combat, a crisis, made up of of violence and of sorrow. We remain in faith, hope and love, sure that God accomplishes His work of Love.

"Of its own accord the land produces first the shoot, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. And when the crop is ready, at once he starts to reap because the harvest has come."

In the growth of the seed, Jesus see show necessary is the harvest this announcement of an end .It has no meaning in itself. There is not only the glorious hope which a morning brings, there is also the reality of evening. The end of this announcement is when love will be shared on a universal level. This requires the Love of the Father for all, and a recognition. Growth cannot come about any old how, the corn grows in order to be harvested and growth implies this harvest .The Good News brings Jesus to an end : the Passion, which will become a Passage for many. We are determined that the work of God will come about in our restless world. We are in great danger of losing our peace, becoming excited wanting to act whatever comes about. It is when we see the bad result that we realize that this is not what we should have done. It is not an easy balance to be determined and at the same time to believe that God will act !

Nor is it easy to do what he asks of us, confident that it really is His will. Not always easy to remain at peace within ourselves. This requires a great confidence in God.

By this Word, Jesus asks us to listen. This means to place the Word of God and Christ’s words in the right place. Thanks to Jesus, we have received the Revelation of the heart of Our Father who is nothing else but Love.Jesus, who became flesh from the Virgin Mary, has manifested to us His Love. Thus we have a direct access to God, thanks to Jesus. We can allow our lives to be transformed by Him little by little, thanks to this Light and to this Love which has to enter into every fiber of our heart. And so our face and our whole life become peaceful and we allow God’s Infinite Love to touch us and to enlighten us so that our life becomes transformed. We move towards God with a sincere heart. Nothing that is hidden must be disclosed nothing kept secret except to be brought to light.Anyone who has ears for listening should listen ! The measure that you use for others will be used for you and you will receive more again. For the one who has will receive.

We ask for the grace to be attentive to God of Love who speaks to us so that His Light be reflected upon our faces.
