“Seek first of all the Kingdom of God, then everything else will be given unto you.”

2 Ch.24 17-25 Ps.88 Mt.6,24-34

Saturday of 11th week, even numbered year

“Your Heavenly Father knows your needs, says Jesus. Do not worry about tomorrow : tomorrow will take care of itself.”

Our Father created humanity on this earth and he gave it the capacity to master the universe, and God saw that all He made was good.

All that was made for humanity was good and beautiful, happiness, but trials passed through this and that day is in the past.

God always feeds the birds of Heaven and he always clothes the grass in the fields but we work so as to answer our needs. And yet, Jesus tells us that every day is enough!

Do not worry about what you shall eat, for your body, for what you are going to wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Each day we choose the word of God which gives us a surprising light. Nature, work of the earth, vegetables, flowers, fruits grow and indeed, the birds always have food and life always triumphs.

’Do not be concerned about so many concerns’ for your life, how you are going to eat and drink or how we are going to be clothed. Jesus repeats himself because his words have something really important to gradually receive.

Jesus tells us not to have ’so many’ worries, tomorrow will look after itself, each day suffices.

“Can any one of you, how much you worry, add one single cubit o to your span of life? And why worry about clothing? Think of the flowers growing in the fields ; they never have to work nor spin; yet I assure you that not even Solomon in all his array of royal garments was clothed like one of these.”

If we have trouble in living it is a sign we are moving towards the Kingdom. Jesus asks us to build up each day the Kingdom of Heaven on this earth. It is God’s presence in us that makes our beauty! It allows us to remain on the level of the heart, on he level of fraternal relationships.

With this presence of God, we respect one another and we welcome each other humbly. With a heart of a poor person, we give thanks to God who continues to give us life.

Jesus tells us that our first concern and our worry consist in ’seeking for the Kingdom and its justice. Everything else will be given unto you on top of all else.’

We takes pains to build the Kingdom outside of the bearings of the world : ’You cannot serve God and money.“”No one can be slaves of two masters : he will either hate the first and love the second, or be attached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be slave of both God and Mammon. "

Look! Says Jesus. We look and we let ourselves be take along by life’s current. Life is so beautiful it is given to us so that we remain in the source of God’s Tenderness from whom we revive his Love.

God is made Tenderness and Goodness and he is always overflowing with Love for us.

We want to be attentive and faithful to the life given to us.

God who is present pours out waves of living Water into our heart. The justice of the Kingdom consists in refusing to live without other people. Jesus asks us to pass the Justice of the Kingdom before that of the world. To pass relationships of friendship and justice before all our human possessions.

This Kingdom will always have to be sought, will never be totally found but every disciple is called to take a step so it will come about.

For sure we have a hard time when we want to build the Kingdom. We can only strive for it day after day. Place down one step at a time without worrying about what we can do tomorrow. But when we are more concerned about others, we hardly have any concerns for ourselves!

So do not worry; do not say ’What shall we eat? What are we to drink? What are we to wear?
