THURSDAY of 14th Week, uneven numbered year

“And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is close at hand. Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin diseases, drive out devils. You received freely, give freely.”

The Gospel invites us to announce the Good News of God’s Kingdom. It is Him, Jesus Our Saviour, whom the Father sent into the world. He is the only One who can regenerate us from the inside and change the word in which we live. Jesus announces that ’The Kingdom of God is close at hand’, he announced the reign of God that progressed in men as the good advanced and evil retrieved. Love is free, a gracious gift from God.It is God’s very own Mystery :’You have received freely, freely receive“, said Jesus. It is not easy to enter into this mystery of a free love from God. Jesus, the Gift of God, manifests the unique Gift of the Father. Therese of the Child Jesus understood Love. She transformed the Carmel of Lisieux thanks to the links of love received in her family and she was taken up by the Holy Spirit. These links of the heart that existed in her family were transformed for the Kingdom. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Therese leaned upon these family links in order to transform them, thanks to this divine love, into links of Love in the Carmel. She recognized these links of love offered by Jesus Himself as a Gift, to warm her heart, thirsty for Love.”Whatever town or village you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave. As you enter his house, greet it, and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come back to you."

Jesus wants the salvation of mankind in his whole being, in his body and spirit- even more, he propose the Resurrection. The one who, because of sin, is a living dead person, experiments a new life when he finds grace again. Each one of us is ’unique’! Jesus is the Unique One come from the Father- He is the Unique One of Mary. There is therefore a discernment that has to come about if ones wants then

to accomplish God’s work! The revelation of ’knowing who is worthy to welcome us’, manifests the mystery of the ’unique’ chosen one of God, whom we find again in the Word. In the Secret of the Love of the Father and Son , we discover ourselves as being the Unique One of the Lord. The links of natural love are an icon of new links that God wants to create for anew world. It is a great mystery that we begin to experience from our baptism : we Christians are called to the Resurrection and Life for all! The ’culture of rejection’ has made us insensitive to the poor, faced with the profusion and waste of food stuff compared with those who have nothing. Our grandparents used to scrupulously make sure that nothing was thrown away. Pope Francis tells us that ’throwing away food is like stealing at a poor person’s table.“”And if anyone does not listen to you or listen to what you have to say, as you walk out of the house or town shake the dust from your feet.In truth I tell you, on the Day of judgement, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town."

Jesus always asks us to be messengers of peace. In order to receive the gifts of God’s Kingdom we have to enter into an inner disposition. We have a great duty amongst men, when we have become believers. We cannot stop announcing the Gospel for we live by it and want others to live from it also. This new love is a new way of entering into the mysterious Love of God that goes beyond us and overflows from Him. To live from the free Love of God is something hard, we always need a sign that proves this Love to us. Now, this love is received in faith, it is the unique Love of the Father for his Son in whom we are loved. God’s Love is so strong and great that it goes beyond us, places us in adoration before God’s work that He accomplishes : ’Freely you have received, freely give’. Without a real experience of this Love we cannot announce the word of Love. This Love generates Peace, it is Jesus’ Peace that we want to bring to the world! Peace is a surprising happiness, it is the happiness of the Infinite Love of God.

Let us ask for the grace to grow in love.
