306. Mercredi de la 3e semaine de Carême : Wednesday of the 3rd Week of Lent

Third week of Lent : Wednesday of 3rd week of Lent

Jesus teaches us that the First Testament is a Divine Revelation where God reveals himself to men through the prophets. The chosen people gathers together on Saturdays at the synagogue to hear the Word of God. Just as a good Israelite knows the Holy Scriptures, and puts them into practice, Christians meditate upon the Holy Scriptures every day. Jesus is the Incarnation of the Word of God! He is the living Word of God amongst us. By his life, he teachers us what is right and how to be. Most of all, he gives us the means to accomplish this Word so we flourish. God’s Glory, the flourishing of his Love will be given to seen by all, Jesus accomplishes it in his own flesh. We contemplate this Glory when Jesus saves us, when we contemplate him on the Cross. This is where Jesus opens up for us a way to the Father. It is hard to follow him for we have to remain in the Holy Spirit at all times! Everything we say about God takes on a body and takes shape in our hearts for us. We may say lovely words but there may be a divorce within us. Jesus said :’ Do not imagine that I came to abolish the law or the prophets, I have come not to abolish but to accomplish them. ’

“In truth, I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear from the Law, until all its purpose is achieved.” In Jesus, we have the fullness of the Revelation. He is the Word, the Word of God, become living flesh, who comes to us to be known by us, in order that we know He is God and how much He love us. God expects a response of love from man, manifested in the accomplishment of his teaching : If you love me you will remain faithful to my commandments. His commandments are not a heavy load to bear. To keep

God’s commandments is a proof of our love for him, with works of truth. Love is not only a feeling, it requires works of love also, it requires to live the double precept of charity. Jesus manifests the accomplishment of the gift of the infinite love of God. What is given to us comes from God, whether it be in nature or in law. Everything is given so our hearts may flourish. God wants us to shine forth with his Love and holiness. for that, we need to be at the school of Jesus. Listen, Israel God is abundant, overflowing with love.He wants to give us this overflowing love. You will not lie, you shall not steal, you shall not kill, you shall not speak badly of your brother. In Jesus we have the fullness of the Revelation. He is the word, the Word of God, become living flesh, who comes to us to be known by us, that we know he is God and how much He love us. god expects a response of love from man, manifested in the accomplishment of his teaching : If you love me you will remain faithful to my commandments. Jesus teaches us also the malice of scandal : As St John tells us : “Whoever says : ’ I know him’ and who does not keep his commandments, is a liar ; the truth is not in him.” At the same time, Jesus teaches us the importance of the good example. The revelation of God’s commandments is

something marvelous, even greater when we live according to the message of Jesus! Our heart is not far from God, to live from Love is our greatest happiness. It is by the Eucharist that Jesus gives us the possibility to adjust our heart to His Heart. May we be in Him and his Love takes everything in us, it shines forth the infinite love of God.We ask for the grace to be taken up in the infinite dimension of God’s Love. him on the Cross.
